Practical information

Time: 17-26 August 2022. Given the nature of the workshop, we strongly encourage people to stay for the full duration of the event.

Space: Essômes-sur-Marne, a village located next to the city of Château-Thierry, between Paris and Reims. The workshop will be hosted in a large family house.

Geodesics: There are regular direct trains between Paris and Château-Thierry, the trip takes about an hour (check for times here). There is also a train between Reims and Château-Thierry (see here). From the train station, the house can be reached either by bus ("Place Férréol" stop, see here for the times), taxi, or a 40-min walk. We will also arrange to make a shuttle from the train station on August 16.

Energy: Cooking will be undertaken by the participants themselves. Every afternoon, volunteers will gather to form an elite squad, which will satiate the hunger of the craving masses! The house has a large, well-equipped kitchen and a BBQ; there will ample opportunity to cook vegetarian and vegan food.

Fees: The conference fees are set to 350 euros per participant, which covers the food, utility costs, purchase of blackboards and other materials, and the organization of one excursion during the conference. They are to be paid after your application is accepted. Depending on the availability of funding, we may be able to waive some of these costs, or provide some support for travel. 

What to bring: Light hiking shoes, musical instruments, swimsuit. Also let us know if you can bring a car, hammock, or tent!
